The chicks

We had a special delivery of eggs from the farm on Monday the 9th of April.

This was the start of our hatching project in Scoil Mhuire.

We watched and waited for our eggs to hatch!

Finally we saw a tiny crack, and then a little chick emerged!

We now have 2 chicks in Scoil Mhuire. We named the chicks Max Jnr and Cheeky Beaky

We were very lucky in room 4 and got to hold our chicks today:

Easter

We had an easter egg hunt before we went on our holidays. The easter bunny left lots of clues around the school:

Thankfully we found the hidden treats and enjoyed every single one of them!

Team work

In room 4 we believe working as part of a team is very important!

Here is a look at some of our collaborative art work that we completed as part of our topic 'Spring':

Plants and the garden centre

Topic: Plants

Our trip to the garden centre was a great success. The lovely staff in Newlands showed us around, we got to know the names of different flowers and plants. A highlight was seeing all the fish in their tanks!

We decided to open up our own garden centre in room 4:

We were also reading the book 'Jack and the beanstalk'. Our next set of pictures shows some of our fabulous art work. We were drawing beanstalks:

The little red hen

We have been reading the story 'The Little Red Hen' in room 4

We wanted to make bread just like the little red hen - and we did!

Christmas in room 4

December was a busy time for us behind the blue door.

We were very excited for Christmas!

Elves from the North-pole came to visit us and wrote us little notes.

We wrote our letters to Santa and posted them, making a wish before we dropped them in the post box!

Here are a few of our Christmas activities:

 Wrapping presents in Santa's workshop

Writing naughty and nice lists in Santa's workshop!

Playing with snow in the small world
